Welcome to Nutrition 101 for Office Workers!
This is a fun and interactive set of web-based lessons that will help typical office employees (you) understand the basics of nutrition and the importance of integrating healthy meals into a busy working lifestyle. Our goal is to lead you through the process of nutritional education, or re-education during this 2 hour course by completing three lessons.
The first lesson is on Food Groups. Here we will be learning how to define, identify and classify the five major food groups and place them in the larger ChooseMyPlate schema followed by a short quiz.
Next in lesson 2, we will be calculating calories based on your individual circumstances. Here we will be learning about your individual Basal Metabolic Rate and your Daily Caloric activity.
Finally in lesson 3, we will take a look at your current eating habits and calculate your current caloric intake. With this information, we will then tie in lessons 1 and 2 to create a healthier office meal plan. You will also see that we have setup a discussion forum and a variety of interactive learning tools to contribute to a fun and engaging learning environment.
